It was during a health check that led the doctor to suggest that I see a breast specialist. The specialist did a biopsy and that is how I found out that it is breast cancer. I sought a second opinion due to a requirement of my insurance that I have to see a specialist in their list. It was unexpected as I didn’t have any symptoms.

I ate healthier after my diagnosis. I made sure to eat a healthier diet most days of the week. I will also go for an annual health check-up now.

My doctor recommended that I go for surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy to treat the cancer.

I was really happy, relieved, motivated and full of hope after deciding on my treatment plan.

I’ve since completed treatment.

I had fatigue, hair loss and loss of appetite during treatment. I coped with them by resting and eating what I like.

I was most afraid that I would not be healed. I have overcome the fear through my faith in God. I pray and also get my friends to pray for my recovery.

Now that some time has passed, I feel more optimistic, hopeful and thankful!

Believe in God as He will help you through the journey. Have family members and friends around you who will support your journey. Don’t isolate yourself. The treatment is very advanced and trust that going through the treatment for 6 months will be over very soon. Whatever side effects we face, believe that we will overcome it. Our body is a natural healing living cell that with medicine advancement, it will help us to get through the treatment period. Also remember to eat to strengthen our body. Pray lots.
