Hi, I’m Nelly, and I’m from Colombia.
Currently, I’m in remission from stage 2 breast cancer.

I felt lumps in my breast that could move, as well as pain.

At the beginning, I felt optimistic and courageous.

I started eating healthier every day.

I was recommended for a mastectomy and hormone therapy, which I selected. Still, I felt angry, anxious, discouraged and scared.
However, after everything, I’ve completed my treatment so far. I’m now in remission, but I still take hormone therapy.

I wasn’t majorly affected by side effects.

In the long term, I want to continue to eat healthier all the time, even after treatment. I started to spend more time with my family as well.
Before I knew I had cancer
- Called/texted my parents 3 times a week
- Visited my parents 1 time a week
- Spent time with my children 3 times a week
- Was intimate with my partner 1 time a month
- Went on 1 family trip a year
After knowing I had cancer
- Called/texted my parents 9 times a week
- Visited my parents 1 time a week
- Spent time with my children 7 times a week
- Was intimate with my partner 1 time a month
- Went on 3 family trips a year

I plan to travel with my children, and my biggest dream is to own a house with my children.

I didn’t have fears.

Now, I still feel optimistic and courageous.

To others, I would say: “Believe in God and have faith.”
