Nia Profile

My name is Nia, and I’m a single mother to three kids. I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, and as of November 2023, I’ve yet to receive treatment.

Symptoms Breast Cancer 5

Aside from a lump in my left breast, I didn’t experience any other symptoms.

Emotions Shock Depressed

Upon confirming my stage 2 cancer diagnosis, all I registered was fear. I was frightened, nervous, overwhelmed and worried.

Lifestyle Healthy Diet 7

Ever since then, I made it a point to eat healthier meals every day.

Medical Care Waiting For Treatment

I’ve not yet decided on a treatment plan.

Aspirations Kid Driving Force

I personally have no plans; I’m more worried about recovering from cancer. However, I do look forward to traveling to see my sister in Georgia.

As a divorcee, I hope to get a higher paying job to support my kids. I’m not sure if I can do that now with cancer but the thought of my kids motivates me. What I hope for most is to spend time with my kids and see them healthy.

Anjali Emotions

I’ve yet to begin treatment, and I still harbor a lot of fear.

Rini Medical Care

You could say that my biggest worry is about the pain from chemo and surgery, but I talked to my doctors and nurses in hopes of alleviating these concerns.

Words Choosing Life 1

Never lose sight of what you're fighting for. In my case, I’m doing it so my kids have a mother.
