Rini Profile

Less than a year ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a family history, and went for a consultation after noticing certain symptoms.

I received the initial diagnosis from the first hospital I visited. But, I requested a second opinion from doctors at a different hospital and will be undergoing a lumpectomy.

Having lost my grandmother to cancer, I can't say that I'm not worried or fearless about what's ahead. For now, I am doing what I can to live a healthier life to support my overall health ahead of treatment.

Rini Symptoms

My journey with breast cancer began with an intended discovery prompted by family history. After feeling a new lump and thickening of some parts in the breast, my decision to consult a doctor led to the diagnosis of stage 2 breast cancer. I sought a second opinion to ensure I was receiving the best possible care from experienced professionals.

Tan Emma Emotions

My diagnosis brought a lot of fear. I felt overwhelmed at first. I got angry and felt like it wasn't fair to me. Beneath all, there was this hollow sadness, like I was being isolated, even though I wasn't alone.

Anna 53 Lifestyle

I decided to take proactive steps to improve my health. I made changes to my exercise frequency and nutrition/diet, incorporating healthier habits into my daily routine. This included increasing my exercise frequency by 50% and committing to a healthier diet 3 to 5 days a week.

Rini Medical Care

Currently, I am receiving treatment. Initially, the recommended treatment was breast-conserving surgery, specifically a lumpectomy to remove the tumor. This decision was made after thorough consideration, including consultation with medical professionals and my own research.

Ashanti Lifestyle

I've tried to eat better more often, have healthier meals whenever it is possible.

Aspirations Family Time

I have no personal plans but I intend to spend more time with my family. I've lost my grandmother to cancer in the past and I still have feelings of fear.

Now I'm still trying to cope with my fear. I'm not sure if I will make it.

Anu Emotions

I am still worried about my life.

Advocate For Yourself

My message to others would be to "Be brave!"
