On February 3, 2026, Danny Go! creator and host Daniel Coleman revealed that his son, Isaac, 14, was diagnosed with stage 3 mouth cancer, after a biopsy test was completed. He also announced that the team would be cancelling their upcoming tour, but reassured fans that another tour would be in the works later on, when ‘the time is right’.

While the tour is cancelled, the ‘Danny Go!’ team will still continue to produce videos, books, and other projects as much as possible.

Danny Go’s son cancer updates 2026

As shared by Coleman on his Instagram, his son had surgery to remove the cancer on January 7, 2026. During the surgery, his doctors found that the cancer was more extensive than expected, and had to remove more teeth and mouth tissue than initially planned. A graft was taken from his leg to repair and reconstruct the tissue in his mouth.

After a few weeks, his son managed to return home, although the tissue graft still continues to limit him from having solid foods, and speaking. The tissue graft will continue to shrink over time, as his mouth tissue heals. Currently, his doctors have warned them that there’s a risk that microscopic bits of the cancer may still be present, although the visible tumor has been removed.

Unfortunately, Coleman’s son has a rare genetic condition — Fanconi anemia, which limits his options to manage his cancer. Their current options are either low-dose targeted radiation therapy, or continued surgical removal of the cancer when it appears. Their medical team is also working with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the Fanconi Cancer Foundation, which specialize in treatment and research for those with Fanconi anemia facing cancer.

Danny Go’s son cancer diagnosis

According to Danny Go!’ creator’s announcement about his son’s cancer diagnosis in December 2025, Coleman and his family “always knew this day was coming”, due to his Fanconi anemia. However, for Coleman, it was “still just such a shocking thing to hear about your child, even if you’ve braced for it for years.”

Previously, the ‘Danny Go!’ creator’s son had already undergone a bone marrow transplant and accompanying chemotherapy in 2016, and a kidney transplant in 2021 to treat complications from his Fanconi anemia.

Moving forward

Throughout the years, Coleman has been open on his social media about life with his family, and how they’ve managed the frequent hospital visits and life with young children. He also has a second son, Levi, six years younger than Isaac. They continue to receive strong support and encouragement from the fans of Danny Go!.

On his social media, Coleman continues to highlight the non-profit organizations that have supported them in their journey — including the Fanconi Cancer Foundation and the National Marrow Donor Program.
