Former US Attorney General, Pam Bondi, recently revealed that she has been undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer. The news came shortly after she was removed from her role in April.

Pam Bondi's Cancer

Bondi is an American politician who served as the 87th US Attorney General from 2025 to 2026. In April 2026, she was fired from her post as the US Attorney General by US President Donald Trump. In an official statement released by the Department of Justice, Stacey Young, executive director and founder of Justice Connection, wrote “DOJ’s independence, integrity, and workforce have degraded more under her leadership than at any other time during the department’s 155-year history.”

Bondi shared that she had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer shortly after leaving the Justice Department. Since her diagnosis, Bondi has been undergoing treatment, having undergone surgery a few weeks ago as part of her treatment plan. Fortunately, she is still “doing well, though”.

Life after her cancer diagnosis

Despite being diagnosed with cancer, Bondi is still continuing to work. She will be joining the White House's new advisory council on AI: the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. She is also scheduled to testify before the House Oversight Committee on Friday, May 28 2026, over her handling of the Epstein files.

In response to her new appointment, vice president JD Vance shared that Bondi "has been an enormously valuable asset to the president's team, and I'm thrilled for her and for all of us that she's going to remain involved in confronting some of the most important issues the administration faces."
