Vanessa Trump, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr revealed in a statement on May 20, 2026, that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer at age 48.

Who is Vanessa Trump?

Vanessa Trump is the former wife of Donald Trump Jr, and was married to him from 2005 to 2018. They had five children together, including Kai Trump, 19, the eldest grandchild of US president Donald Trump. The family celebrated Kai’s prep school graduation the week before Vanessa Trump announced her cancer diagnosis.

After her divorce in 2018, Vanessa Trump has been reported to have begun a relationship with professional golfer, Tiger Woods, since 2024.

What is breast cancer?

Breast cancer is a disease whereby cells in the breast begin to grow out of control. Women aged 50 years and older are more likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer. According to the World Health Organization, the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women was breast cancer.

Vanessa Trump’s cancer diagnosis

The announcement posted on Vanessa Trump’s Instagram shared the news as follows: “I've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. While this isn't news anyone expects, I'm working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan.”

She shared that she is “staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me.” While thanking everyone for their support, she also requested privacy from the public eye, as she plans to focus on her health and recovery.

Ivanka Trump, daughter of Donald Trump, also shared her support for Vanessa Trump, commenting “Praying for your continued strength and a swift recovery. Love you mama.” on her announcement post.

Vanessa Trump’s cancer treatment

Vanessa Trump is currently working closely with her doctors on a treatment plan, and recently underwent a procedure the week before her diagnosis announcement in May 2026.
