Will Roberts, a 14-year-old teenager from Ralph, Alabama, is currently battling stage 4 bone cancer.
His mother, Brittney Battles Roberts, posts regular updates on his cancer journey through her social media accounts and Rick Karle’s Good News.
Will Roberts’ cancer
Young Roberts was diagnosed with stage 4 osteosarcoma, a rare cancer that most commonly occurs in adolescents and young adults. Most cases of osteosarcoma happen due to random gene mutations and are not inherited. People who were previously treated with radiation therapy for another cancer are also at risk of developing the disease.

On January 17, 2026, Roberts provided a candid update on his cancer, stating that the cancer had metastasized and caused significant pain in his right knee and left shoulder. In the video, he lifted his sleeve and pointed at a tumor on his left shoulder, exposing a cross that was pen-marked for radiation. Roberts further explained his decision not to have radiation around his left ear due to the risks of permanent blindness and deafness.
Roberts was previously treated for cancer in his pelvic area and right femur, months after his left leg was amputated from the knee.
Managing Roberts’ osteosarcoma
Earlier this month, Brittney Roberts shared a poignant update on her family’s resilience, noting that “cancer does not cancel duck season” following a recent hunting trip. Faith has become the Roberts family’s primary compass throughout their cancer journey. For Roberts, the challenge of cancer has been met with steadfast faith and an overwhelming wave of community support.
To assist with escalating medical expenses, the family has launched a crowdfunding campaign to support Roberts’ ongoing recovery.
In a recent Facebook post shared by Rick Karle, the family warned supporters about fraudulent pages spreading misinformation regarding the Roberts family. Karle stressed:
“The best way to get the latest on Will is by following mom Brittney’s Facebook page at Brittney Battles Roberts. You can follow my page as I’m simply passing along news shared or given to me by the family.”
