Faye Profile

I found out at the start of 2025 that I had stage 3 lung cancer. My sister was previously diagnosed with lung cancer too. While I am yet to experience it all, I believe that positivity is a great help as is family support.

Symptoms X-Ray

I had pneumonia/a chest infection. On the X-ray, they discovered a mass, which was biopsied and the result was found to be non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), specifically squamous cell carcinoma.

Emotions Neutral 3

I think deep down I knew, but I had been masking my symptoms. This explains why I felt rather neutral at my diagnosis.

No Side Effects Waiting For Treatment

Because I was just diagnosed in January 2025, I haven’t been recommended a treatment plan and have yet to receive treatment.

Aspiration Family Support Memories 1

I foresee myself facing challenges of treatment when I get my oncology appointment. But I plan to fight this disease and live for the sake of my grandchildren.

Words Choosing Life 2

What I fear most is the impact on my family or relationships. To try and overcome this fear, I’m seeking support from family or friends and focusing on positive thinking or gratitude.

Lifestyle Stay Home

I feel the same as before. It is what it is.

Biggest Fear Friends Support Group 2

Stay positive and talk about your situation with family and friends. Don’t hide it and rest when you can.
