Hi, I’m Alexandra. I’m not working right now, and I have a daughter.
Three years ago, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, after I noticed a lump. I haven’t undergone surgery so far, but I’ve taken chemotherapy and tamoxifen. To get through this, I’ve always relied on my trust in God to overcome my fears.

I was diagnosed once I noticed the lump, and I noticed a change in my breast shape, as well as irritation of the skin around my breast. There was also some thickening and swelling.

The diagnosis made me feel worried. I felt frightened, overwhelmed and nervous. I trusted my doctor, and didn’t look for a second opinion.

One of the immediate changes I made after hearing my diagnosis was to my diet. I knew I had to take better care of myself, so I began eating a healthier diet when I could.

I've been receiving treatment and sticking to the plan recommended by my doctors. After deciding on the plan, I felt quite positive. I was relieved, motivated and hopeful for the future.
The treatment included chemotherapy and hormone therapy. For chemo, I took docetaxel, carboplatin and antibody drug conjugates. I was also on tamoxifen. Now, I’m just continuing chemo.

I didn’t have unbearable side effects, thankfully. I also didn’t face any issues financing the treatment.

Unfortunately during treatment, I started to eat more unhealthy food sometimes. I started being intimate a lot more often with my husband. I continued to spend a lot of time with my children.

I hope myself and my family can grow closer to God. For myself, I plan to trust God, that He is in control. My dream is to support other patients who are just starting on their journey. My biggest dream with my family is for us to enjoy every moment and pray in every moment.

My biggest fear was dying and leaving my daughter and husband behind. To cope, I needed to trust and leave everything in God's hands.

Now, I feel much more optimistic. I feel confident, thankful and blessed.

To those who are currently on their own cancer journey, I say, "Put your trust in God that He will give us the answer to move forward.”
