Kelly Profile 1

Hi, I’m Kelly, I’ve been facing Stage 1 breast cancer for the past few years.

It all started when I moved to a new area and went for a check-up with my new doctor.

Unfortunately, I’ve also lost my brother and a good friend to cancer.

Amanda Symptoms

Things started when I moved to a new area. When I registered with the local GP, I was recommended for a mammogram, and that’s how I found out about my diagnosis.

I also experienced pain as a symptom.

With my diagnosis, I felt frightened, helpless, and infuriated.

N Lifestyle

After the diagnosis, I completely changed my diet, eating healthier every day and I cut out alcohol completely.

Gayna Medical Care

I completed treatment, but I’m still taking medication to ensure that my cancer stays in remission. Following the doctors' recommendations, I underwent a breast-conserving lumpectomy, lymphadenectomy, radiation therapy, and hormone therapy. I trusted my doctors, and didn’t seek a second opinion on my treatment options.

After deciding on the treatment plan, I felt a little bit more hopeful. Beyond this, I also relied on CBD as an alternative treatment.

Clarice Lifestyle

Fatigue hit me hard, but I managed it with bed rest. I struggled with muscle and joint pain, and also weight loss.

Thankfully, I didn't face any financial difficulties due to the treatment.

Catherine Aspirations

Life after treatment brought permanent changes to my lifestyle. I stuck to my healthier diet religiously and stopped drinking completely. While I haven’t changed how often I communicate with my family, I try to take a few family trips with my children now.

Aspirations Medication

I don’t have any plans for the future currently.

Clara Biggest Fear

Throughout this journey, my biggest fear has been recurrence.

Clarice Emotions

Today, I still feel fearful and anxious about what the future holds.

Fiona Words

To those fighting cancer as well, I'd say this: "Do as much as you can but be kind to yourself."
