Maria 37c99 Profile

My name is María. I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer and am in the midst of treatment. Cancer has brought a lot of fear, but I’ve tried to remain optimistic through communication with God. Prayer, acceptance, meditation and yoga has helped me to overcome my fears.

Michi Symptoms

My sister had been diagnosed with breast cancer less than a year ago and was undergoing chemotherapy. After that, I discovered that I had stage 1 breast cancer.

Emotions Negative Positive 2

Fear was one of the biggest emotions that plagued me. I was frightened, nervous, worried and just overwhelmed. However, I still remained optimistic. I held on to courage and hope and tried to stay thankful.

Lifestyle Diet Exercise 3

I exercised a little more and ate healthier every day.

Medical Care Hospital Undergoing Treatment

I was recommended breast-conserving surgery and radiotherapy by my doctor.

I have undergone surgery and am currently awaiting radiotherapy.

Emotions Nice Sky 2

Receiving my treatment plan was a positive experience for me. I felt happy, motivated and somewhat relieved.

No Side Effects Waiting For Treatment

Thankfully, I didn’t experience any side effects from the surgery.

Kenneth Lifestyle 1

I’ve stuck to a healthier diet 7 days a week since my diagnosis.

Since discovering I have cancer, I've spent a lot more time talking to and visiting my parents. I also make sure that my children are minimally affected and continue to spend the same amount of time with them as before. I try to go on trips with them slightly more often to make more memories. My sexual relationship with my partner has decreased slightly but we continue to make an effort to be intimate with each other.

Words Praying 3

I have not really thought about plans for my family in the near future as I've been focused on working with my husband, and spending time with my children and family. Personally, I would like to do several things - catechesis, teaching courses at a foundation, getting further training, resuming salsa classes, and carving.

My biggest aspirations are to live life closer to God, valuing the simple things, and not holding grudges. I want to enjoy life with them to the fullest.

Biggest Fear Death 2

My biggest fears are death, fear of illness and fear of other diseases.

Lifestyle Yoga 1

I’ve tried to overcome these fears with prayer, acceptance, meditation, and some yoga.

Words Healing Recover 2

It’s been a few months and I’m still nervous, but I’m staying courageous and thankful.

Words Praying 4

We must always maintain communication with God, each in our own way of connecting with Him. It's important to take good care of our mental health, allowing for self-awareness and developing what makes us feel fulfilled.
